175/365 - FORT PERCH LIGHTHOUSE, NEW BRIGHTON

Completed in 1830, the light served as a beacon to guide all shipping which were approaching the river until 1973, when it was replaced by a new radar system. The rocks and groynes which lay around it have long been used by young lads from Liverpool to catch crabs which hide within their pools at low tide, a practice which continues even to this day.
